On April 21, Tan Ping, Dean of School of civil engineering and executive director of engineering seismic research center, grade II researcher and doctoral supervisor of Guangzhou University, was invited to the lecture hall on the second floor of 16d Structure Laboratory of Guangzhou University to give an academic report entitled "seismic isolation and vibration control of Civil Engineering structures". Some teachers and students of civil engineering major listened to the report, which was presided over by President Professor Yue Jianwei.
President Yue Jianwei introduced researcher Tan Ping's academic experience and main research achievements to the present teachers and students, and extended a warm welcome to researcher Tan Ping on behalf of the college.
Researcher Tan Ping first introduced the background of structural seismic research and the main achievements of structural seismic research in recent years. Then, he introduced the development and application of this new technology to teachers and students from two aspects of structural energy dissipation and vibration control; Combined with practical engineering examples, this paper expounds the design concept and characteristics of structural anti-seismic. Finally, researcher Tan Ping shared the possible future development trend of structural vibration isolation and damping control technology, and earnestly hoped that everyone would contribute to the cause of structural earthquake resistance in China in the future.
After the end of the report, the communication session began. Teachers and students attending the meeting had in-depth exchanges on educational resources cooperation and academic exchanges. The lecture enriched the students' professional knowledge, broadened their academic vision, and stimulated their strong interest in structural earthquake resistance.
